Cheese and Honey in a Seeded Bun



This quick and easy packed lunch idea is the perfect combination of sweet and savoury flavours and provides calcium, essential for kid’s healthy bones. Honey is a great natural sweetener that teams perfectly with the natural acidity of the cheese. Toasted oats, if you use them, not only add nuttiness but will also increase fibre.


Poppy seed, sesame or other seeded roll
35g Red Leicester, Creamy Lancashire or Double Gloucester

A sprinkle of toasted rolled oats (optional)
1tsp honey


Fill roll with the thinly sliced cheese.

Drizzle the honey over the cheese. 

Depending on your child’s tastes sprinkle some toasted rolled oats onto the honey and cheese (cashew nuts are also great if your child’s school isn’t a nut-free zone).
